Foster Dickson who is the editor of Level: DeepSouth. He asked me to write about why I love the movie Red Dawn (the original, never saw the new one). In the process I quoted Cormac McCarthy’s “Blood Meridian”. Things got weird from there. This is a mini-memoir and an homage to both.
